I Love My Family

We started the day with sunshine and ended with snow so by the time we were all ready for the photos, it had turned overcast and chilly. Except you wouldn't know that because Sebastian never wears his socks in the house. Two of us were sick and two of us were worn out from a long stretch without any down time. Nevertheless, we had the best Valentine weekend together and apart.

We took our kids out on dates, took each other out on dates, spent time with old friends, spent time resting and recovering, discussed the future over creme brulee, watched movies on our new TV, ate pink pancakes, set up obstacle courses, took lots of Tylenol, and avoided the laundry until it could be avoided no more.

Brett and I exchanged gifts over our pink pancakes. Brett got me this sweet necklace from Grigio on Etsy and the promise of one of these when they finally hit stores this spring (fingers crossed). I can't tell you what I got him but it was written inside this card from Nouveau Designs. ;)

I purchased these natural wooden toys from Little Sapling Toys on Etsy and gave them to the kids a little early. The little bird is a teething ring for Ruby and the blocks are for Sebastian. They are finely sanded and finished with local beeswax and organic jojoba oil so they feel really soft.

I still owe you guys a story so I'll be back later with that. Right now I'm off to soak in our last day of family time. I hope your weekend was lovely. Did anyone do anything fun for the Chinese New Year? Any Presidents Day parties? Ha!

xoxo,
Rachel
