iPhones and Quilt Pieces

Sebastian specifically asked to be an iPhone for Halloween this year so how could I resist making him the costume. Okay, so it wasn't Sebastian's idea, it was my mom's, but I like to think he was quite happy with the outcome. When I was young, my mom made costumes that represented something big that had happened in Pop Culture that year. (I was a Coca-Cola can the year they changed the name from just 'Coke'.) So her creative idea was well received.
Walking around with Sebastian in his oversized iPhone costume reminded me of that Halloween scene in E.T. He just kind of shuffled along carrying his Frankenstein candy bag until someone handed him something in a crinkly package. Sometimes he would sign 'Thank You'. It made this Momma proud.
There was an overlap in sewing projects last week so I had to leave my quilt pieces lying on the formal living room floor for a few days. Sebastian loves to walk on them so I took pics to make sure I could replace any rectangles that had been accidentally relocated. I've sewn each piece into rows and now am working on sewing the rows together. I should have a finished top by this afternoon if all goes according to plan and Sebastian sleeps as long as I expect. This one was commissioned by Jessica again as a birthday gift for her sister. I love that they'll have similar quilts to remind them of each other the rest of their lives. Lovely.

If you haven't checked out the Red Velvet Art blog lately, it should be your next stop. Sarah carved the cutest bird in her pumpkin and Silje is making me crave donuts! We're going to have a few fresh posts every week so make sure you bookmark our site and check back for fun inspiration for the holidays! Thanks for looking everyone.

I think that was the best story, and tradition I have ever heard.
I look at 4 blogs daily, sometimes several times a day, and those sites include this one, RV art, RVKC, and Elsie's. I think you are all doing a fab job. Keep up the great work, and I love the fact that Brett has joined. It seems kind of neat to see your husband join in, his post are very nicely written.
Well you all have a wonderful evening. Angela

LOL...love the iphone costume. I can remember when I was little, me and my sister were rubiks cubes. We were so big we couldn't get up to the door to get anything. Guess we should have went with smaller boxes...LOL

I started my quilt yesterday and I'm so happy with it so far. I chose a pretty hard pattern and now I'm wishing I had made one like yours. I think my next one will be like that. Can't wait to see the finished product!
