Nearing 300!

Oooh, I'm getting close to a big blog marker. I usually forget those things so I'm celebrating in advance!
Another exciting celebration is happening as you read! My dear friend, Katy, and her husband have finally met their adopted son in Ethiopia this week and are bringing him home on Monday. Diesel doesn't know he has an adopted Aunt and Uncle Denbow waiting to smother him with love when his parent's arms need a rest. We're attacking the nursery on Monday morning to finish up where Katy left off before they flew out last week. A few art pieces here and there, a new quilt and maybe a special fabric monster to keep him company. Here is the quilt in progress. The fabric is Etsuko Furuya.

Sebastian has been exploring his gravitational limits this week. You can tell how much fun he is having. However, mommy doesn't like this as much as reading books on the floor so he is only allowed this pleasure on special occasions such as Monday mornings when we all need a little excitement in our lives.

And when he disappears into the kitchen/laundry room and all goes quiet, I know to look for him here.

I know a few family members who may lose trust in my mothering abilities after seeing this post but I assure you I'm not letting him climb onto the roof yet. I had to wait until I was at least four.

Cider Days is almost here and with the arrival of our super RAD vinyl banner, I'm resting easy. I have a spray painted card rack in my back yard, a peg board sandwich sign with detachable hooks in my dining room, stacks of notepads and paint on my dining table, and a sewing machine that can only be reached if absolutely necessary. I live for this kind of stress. Elsie and I agreed it is much better than having something stuck in your eye for two hours.

Tutorials #7 and #8 have just been posted and technically it was still Thursday, September 18th. They were extra fun to make and I'm eager to see what members post in our Flickr group in the coming days. Classes can always be purchased HERE. They are staying online until the end of December and are also available in .pdf format at any time. Just send us an e-mail and we'll get it to you soon.

I'm REALLY excited to have a house tour featured on sfgirlbybay next week. Victoria has influenced my love for pink in interior design and was the reason we took a sporadic road trip to Alameda last April to check out the famous flea market that is held once a month. She has the most beautiful, playful images in her Flickr feed and is the shop owner behind the well known 'Keep Calm and Carry On' vintage reproduction posters. If you ever need a few fresh blogs to inspire your weary mind, just browse the many links available from her blog. So, I'm eager to share pictures and especially thrilled to be able to share them there. Thanks, Victoria!

Stay tuned for Cider Days photos. If you're in or near Springfield, MO and plan on attending, don't be a stranger. Let's even take pictures together. One can never have enough pictures of ones self.

I so wish I could be in Springfield for Cider Days! DH and I used to live there (college and a few years beyond), but now we live down in Arkansas. Even worse - we're going to be in Branson/Springfield on business for a few days starting the day AFTER Cider Days is over!:( I'm so bummed. I would have loved to come meet you guys at your booth!

Great pictures of Sebastian! What fun! My kids never got in the dryer...hmmmmm.... I so wish I lived closer to meet you and Elsie at Cider Days! I hope it goes wonderfully for you! Thank you so much for the fabulous art journal tutorials. I'm really enjoying them. It's just what I needed and it's great to not use regular scrapbooking materials. I'm sure I'll be doing it long after the tutorials are over. Thank you so much for your time and creativity, Rachel! Have a wonderfully fabulous & inspiring weekend!!!
