Sugar*Rush

This month has been one fabulous day after another. I'm not sure I have the stamina to keep going after all the living that has been lived and the doing that has been done but I would rather have a month such as this than a year of too much time on my hands. It feels good. Like eating something delicious for the first time. Soon we will grab an afternoon or evening of unscheduled play time and find a pumpkin patch to wander through.

I woke up this morning and eagerly headed over to Victoria's blog to read the Unexpected Guests post featuring our home. Seeing something so familiar on someone else's blog was a bit surreal but she did such a lovely post and was so kind to invite me. I'm thankful for the attention given to Red Velvet Art and Pony Party as well because we've had a jump in sales today. Thanks, Victoria!
You can see the rest of the home tour on my Flickr set of the same name.
Cider Days was a great excuse to spend whole afternoons with some of my favorite girls. Silje brought her friend, Milt, and we got to people watch and talk about how they can almost predict what tattoo someone will ask for when they walk in the door of their shop. We had our fair share of cider and coffee and fabulous people that stopped by to visit. It would've been the perfect weekend if only we'd had our Emma to join us. Alas, Hollywood needs her there.
Elsie hosted a ton of people on Sunday at the Commercial Street Loft Walk. She and Jeremy and a host of helpful relatives have worked so hard to make the place fabulous and usable as an art and recording studio/loft space and it is SO fun to visit. I might start going over there to do a stairs workout every day!
Brett, Brittany and I did a covert 'WELCOME HOME, DIESEL' job on our friends' house last night before they got back from their trip to Ethiopia to bring home their sweet boy. I'm hoping we'll get a chance to meet him this evening and hear all the stories of long plane rides and an emergency trip to the hospital mid-week!
The third and final online art journal class will start on October 6th! Slots will be available for purchase Tuesday evening in the Red Velvet Art Etsy shop. Two new tutorials will be posted on the 9th, 13th and 16th and a .pdf file will be available at the end of the class. We've had such a fun crowd join us for the first two and I can't wait to show you what we have in store for this last class!

Thanks for stopping in. You guys make this place rad.

I just saw your "unexpected guests" interview on sfgirlbybay, and I just loved it! Your house is beautiful!!

And I have to ask - how did you attach the metal tray to the wall above your stove? I've been wanting to put something above my stove to clip recipes to for a long time, and I think that is a genious idea. I've been attaching my recipes (w/a magnet) to the hinge of my cabinet while I'm cooking, but it would be great for it to be right above the stove where I can see it. THANKS!

Off to add your blog to my google reader feed...:)

Hello Rachel. I love what you've done to your new place.
Where did you get your material of houndstooth? Whenever I find some its usually not the size print that I'm looking for. Send me an e-mail if you could of where you got it. Thanks. luvmycat@charter.net
