Feeling Loved and Sad

Your e-mails, comments, flowers, phone calls and thoughts have made these last few days a little less lonely and we all three appreciate that. I never knew so many other women had experienced the loss of a pregnancy. Being among great numbers doesn't take any sadness away but its easier to carry. I've sat reading all of your sweet words over the last few days feeling very loved and thankful for the ways this community has affected and influenced my life.

I'm using Elsie's sewing machine to work on the quilt today. Cutting fabric and writing things down have been good for me. Swinging at the park with Sebastian has been good for me. The support from friends and family has been more than good for me.

I'll be back soon with something pretty to show you.

I don't believe I've commented before, but I've been reading for a couple months. I just want you to know that I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I am praying that God will give you peace through this difficult time.

I think it's so beautiful how women come together to support each other when something like this happens. The fact that other women have been there doesn't take away the hurt, but it helps to talk to someone that knows exactly how you feel. I experienced that with my divorce.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
So many people care about you.

I am sorry I opened your blog just today, My sister in law had at least 3 miscarriages, I was 6 at that time and she lived next my parents home, I used to go to her home and Just sat in her kitchen while she was cooking.
I do not need any explanation, I felt her pain.
She had one baby 3 years younger than me and later she had 3 more.
Mourning takes time.

i am so sorry rachel. loss is the hardest thing to experience. i lost my baby brother 3 years ago, and i wish through my experience there was something i could say to others who are hurting to make them feel better, but the only thing i can say is to let yourself feel "it." whatever "it" has to be at the moment. and trust that God is with you EVERY SINGLE step of the way.

my prayers are with you and your family. feel free to e-mail me if you need anything at all.

Your flowers are beautiful!! I cant wait to see your quilt.
I was one of your buyers to a quilt tutorial that you did on your Etsy quit some time ago. Everything but the binding (only sewed on the one side of the blanket) I messed up. And I cant hand sew to same my life. Anyways...I'm leaving for upnorth on Friday and I went to the fabric store to get some fabric today. So I'm off to start a new project. Good luck with yours.

Rachel, it is SO good that you guys have such comfort around you right now...friends, family, comments, emails, flowers, sewing...grief sucks (to say the very least!) and feeling that you aren't alone and are loved is probably the best medicine in the world :)

I think the quilt is a FANTASTIC idea, for so many reasons. I am sure it will be lovely and very cathartic for you. I am sewing a quilt for my partner David at the moment and am really enjoying it. I can't wait to see yours.

Sending lots of love and hugs your way :)

Yes, make a quilt and sew tears in to it and love. I had not checked in on your blog in a while and this post caught my breath in my chest. I am so glad you know and are aware and feel that you are not alone. Hug Sebastian close today and feel the hugs floating through cyber-space for all you.

My husband and i have been trying for 4 years and are trying to adopt now. totally let yourself grieve, it's so good. and you know what might be nice to remember too is that your body has done it once before, so you know it's not impossible! my heart is with you!
