Promises, Promises

What happened to that give away?

I'll check in with the give away elves and see who fumbled that one up. I'll set them straight and make sure there is something to comment on by Monday afternoon. And that play list? Well, I believe there is no 'I' in team and since Brett and I like to call ourselves 'Team Denbow' I made him polish up the play list. Or rather, forcefully requested his participation.

The real reason I asked for help from my better half is because he knows more about music than anyone our age should. He spends his free time reading about music, organizing our iTunes, or picking up the latest album that he made the library order because they need a better collection if they're to be taken seriously. The man has a large portion of his memory dedicated to remembering who influenced every band that came after them, the names of the record labels they were all signed with, and which albums were game changers. It makes him very mysterious as well as tall, dark and handsome.
Without further ado, I bring you the winter gathering. A list of our favorite songs for those cozy evenings spent inside, courtesy of Team Denbow. We hope you find a few new favorites.

Fleet Foxes / Blue Ridge Mountains
Camera Obscura / Pen and Notebook
Bon Iver / Skinny Love
Viva Voce / Believer
Innocence Mission / Look For Me As You Go By
Melody Gardut / Worrisome Heart
Tilly and the Wall / Rainbows in the Dark
The 88 / Coming Home
Bosque Brown / Silver and Gold
The Decemberists / Yankee Bayonet
Iron and Wine / Upward Over the Mountain
Joseph Arthur / Take Me Home

My dh is like that... it's amazing to be able to recall who sang what and when and was influenced by whom and what year it came out and etc... I just nod my head and say.. oh really, that's cool ;) I don't even try to remember.

Thanks for the list, my curiosity got the better of me so I looked the songs up on iTunes. You've now introduced me to Melody Gardot who has the most beautiful sound! So thank you!! you have so many great artists in the states that we never get to hear about!

Loving the glasses by the way!

I love your playlist and surely will be adding these to my iTunes. Thanks, team.

Nothing beats a guy with good taste in music who knows his stuff - I'm lucky that way, too.

Bizarre - my husband and I call ourselves Team Schubert ... and he probably knows as much about music as Brett ... weird.

Which reminds me of this:

This relationship sounds very similar to one that I share with Dan. He is into music as well. He's been playing the violin for 15+ years now. Love the music list. Hope it doesn't get too cold for you. Its pouring in Cali right now.
