The Last August Weekend Before Today

I found an armoire,
located a power sander,
played in the backyard,
let my belly see the sun,
ate two icy pops,
didn't sleep well,
spent a lot of time driving Brett to and from work,
cleaned my studio,
rearranged Sebastian's room again,
did laundry,
did dishes,
purged some fabric scraps,
visited with new neighbors,
received happy mail two days in a row,
started reading Handmade Nation,
cut out leather journals,
sketched out some embroidery patterns,
got a shoulder rub that took away all the tension,
got up early and waited on the sun,
and realized this baby is coming soon.

xoxo,
Rachel

Lovely! :) Can't wait to see what you think of 'Handmade Nation', it's on my to-read list, I've been searching for a screening here, too! Happy day, it sounds like you've been enjoying summer! :)

I hope this isn't weird--I was searching for info on the Lane tables and I saw you're selling your two end tables! Are you changing the look of your living room, and are you keeping the coffee table? You inspired me to buy mine :)

Matt and Jess,

We're keeping the coffee table but the end tables were just too big for our space and we're trying to make room for a new person on her way! That means room for a swing, the pack-n-play, etc. so we just figured we'd send them to another home now. The new owners drove two hours to come get them!

I visited from "Whatever" and read the Armoire post first...this armoire is beautiful! I can't wait to see your finished product...I will be back. I so admire people who can do things like this. I have a kitchen hutch that was my grandma's and it is bad shape right now. I really want to redo it, because it's awesome, but haven't a clue where to start. Having someone do it will cost so much...anyway, it's cool that people can just fix something up the way they want like that.
