I spent about two hours yesterday afternoon trying to convince my son that putting clean pants on would be his ticket to getting to go outside to play. He decided to spend those two hours playing inside with his trains sans pants. I let him because I'm pretty sure I didn't like wearing jeans when I was young either. I spent a few good years of my life in stretchy pants with stirrups.
I spent about three minutes gathering up these beauties thinking I might turn them into fitted crib sheets. Then I remembered there were five other half finished projects needing more immediate attention. I sat on the floor of our dining room cutting and pinning vintage fabric to absorbent terry cloth for about an hour, stopping every now and then to let a contraction work itself out. I counted about 20 of them altogether today. Nothing uncomfortable or longer than 15 seconds yet but it was good motivation to stay on top of the prioritized to do list. You know, just in case.

I'm STILL not a fan of pants! Getting to wear jeans that have elastic waist bands was one of my favorite parts about being pregnant : )
May you be blessed with a smooth and fast delivery and may your son be understanding when he has to share mommy and daddy with his new, healthy, beautiful sister!
We know all about those ultimatums that don't go as planned. The important thing is sticking to the deal!
I want to see what your sewing. I can't believe you are keeping so busy this far along in your pregnancy. I was laying on the couch by this point. Glad you're felling so good. Enjoy the nesting!
I'm with S! I take my pants off as soon as I get home and put on yoga pants or pj pants! =)
I can't wait to see little Ruby!!!! So exciting!
I wish I could come to the shower this weekend! I had planned on it and then hubby said he was getting my stepson this weekend from up north so he'll need the car...and i want to be home anyway after Zachary was so sick and in the hospital.
AND! I'm doing an adventure nite on Saturday!!!! Yay!!! =)
It's dino themed...shhhhh! ;)
So excited for this baby to get here! and for your family :)
ooohh--those early contractions sure can put a girl on edge!
when you were talking about rearranging the furniture a few days ago my first thought was, "OOOOHH--baby coming!"
exciting times, little mama!
My mind is going a million directions right now. Way to go staying on track!
eeeee yay contractions! Oh I am getting so excited for you. BTW LOVE those sheets too!
My son doesn't like to wear pants either. ha ha I am pretty sure he would take playing "sans pants" to outdoors most days.
I do adore little boys.
I love the fabric you're working with! Counting contractions.... ohhh... Ruby's almost here :)
Gussy
well, I´ll give you three more days to go, then I expect Ruby to come...;-)) rearanging furniture is really suspect...;-)))
Oh! I'm so excited for you! Ruby's birth is getting so close now!
I remember having these contractions for about two weeks and even a whole night of pretty painful ones and not being able to sleep! I really thought i went into labor, but it took another whole week before the 'real thing' started...
Enjoy these last weeks with Ruby safely inside your tummy! It's such a special feeling! Before you know it, you'll be holding her!
My daughter spent most of her young life completely naked. Except when we were out in public. Well...most of the time.
i HATED wearing jeans when i was little--stirrup pants were the pants. so comfortable.
excited to see your little girl soon!
Those fabrics are delightful Rachel!!
those will be great crib sheets!
He's such a cutie!!
My son is 8 and still hates wearing jeans. My husband is worried that he'll become the weird boy who only wears sweat pants! Fortunately- track pants are in style.
I love the excitement that comes when you know baby will be coming soon!
And I have to tell you I actually SAW stirrup pants at Old Navy the other day!!!! I am too old and fat to revisit that trend but it's coming around again :)
I've got two little boys and frequently one or both of them will come in to a room stark naked and act like nothing is off..boys especially seem to loved the nakeds..been reading your blog for awhile now and just love it!
ps. I had my first baby at 35 weeks so keep up the good work with the list, early does happen:)!
Yay for contractions! :) Beautiful yellows. My daughter does everything she can to worm her way out of wearing clothing. I figure I am doing good to keep her in panties and socks. :)
