Keeping The Peace

Our house is loud these days. Really, really loud. Ruby is dealing with her own version of my cold and probably teething due to the amounts of drool and shark attacks on my left shoulder. When she's not sleeping or eating, she's screeching. Sometimes with a smile on her sweet little face and sometimes because she's not feeling well. Regardless, it's always shrill. The kind of tones that make the little hairs in your ears vibrate and ring.

In between the shrieking I do my best to submit to the repeated demands to "Watch this, Mama!" It usually involves jumping, stomping, running, or crashing. And repeat.

One of today's requests was to read the new book his Grandma Mary sent in the mail. I told him to "Look at Mama" and he told me to put the camera down and stop taking his picture. Right.

With my thumb in Ruby's mouth and Sebastian leaning heavily on my shoulder I read about the old lady who swallowed some very silly things and we all enjoyed a little peace and quiet.

xoxo,
Rachel

The joys of motherhood, eh?
I wish I could come over so our boys could entertain eachother and we could talk about baby girls. :)

I love how he said to put the camera down. I need that book. We have all the other ones from the other holidays, so thanks for the heads up! I love your little screech owl, she is so sweet, but thats probably since I can't hear her, lol!

Teething is so much fun! My little girl has been teething for weeks now, at least I am guessing that is why she gums everything including me to death! Your little boy is too cute! Have a wonderful day!

The joys of teething!!! Miss Olivia has been teething as well. She chews on everything but I have gotten her an amber necklace and that seems to be helping. You should look into it!! By the way your children are too cute!! Have a blessed day!!!

such a gorgeous family!

and someone needs to teach that lady to stop swallowing things that don't belong... however it did provide you a few moments of quiet so perhaps she can continue...

Not only is your family very lovely, but so much fun. Sounds like my home, it may be loud, but it's fun and tons of love.

i find one of the hardest things about being a mama is that you can never finish a thought or a sentence without being interrupted. it is so exhausting!

you seem to be handling these two little monkeys fabulously. and you look pretty, too!

Gaaaah! What is with this screeching?! We are having a time of it.

My daughter is 11 months and makes a constant super-shrill, "I want this, I want that, oh thank you, yes, no, hi mama!" squawk that is stripping my nerves!

Anyway, I love your blog and follow it with dedication.

That picture of you and Ruby is so precious. I love that picture of Sebastian too. Ha!
Okay... so I have been fighting off the flu and sleeping ALOT and I had a dream that I ran into you at a big thrift store and we talked forever about crocheting and crafting like we are old friends. Weird huh?
Hope your Thursday is good and somewhat quiet.

Little Ruby looks so much like you! I had a miscarraige around the same time you did. I am happy to say that I am prego with a little girl now! 20 weeks along! Her name is going to be Zooey :) After two little boys I am so excited to have a girl now! I love seeing how you dress Ruby - getting lots of inspiration from you! thank you!
