The new D.A.V. sponsored thrift store called Red Racks had it's grand opening yesterday and I happened to have a spare hour so I took my chance and ran. Just kidding. I did, however, pull into a parking lot overrun with people from all social classes clamoring to get inside. I had to practice my patience with narrow aisles and distracted shoppers. I get it. Lots to look at.I went to the housewares section first and found this beautiful, vintage, U.S.A. bowl in aqua. I could've walked out a happy woman but then I found the fantastic yellow-green melmac bowl, the trio of tulip cups, the hot pink insulated pitcher, and then...more vintage sheets. The same yellow vintage sheets that I passed up the day before. It was like I needed to take them home with me. Then, I come home late last night and realize all of the quilt kits had sold in the first thirty minutes of the update (THANK YOU!) and figured I could probably send those sheets off in pieces to a few more happy people. Sometime soon. I'll let you know well in advance.
And again, thank you for everyone that purchased a quilt kit or chalkboard. They sold out so quickly! There are so many beautiful pieces from this update so head over if you haven't had a chance.

I was just at a thrift store today and they had a bag full of those melamine plates, bowls, etc. and I thought of you. They were the same turqoise, yellow, and coral. I should've snagged them. But I have SOOOO much stuff to list in my shop as it is.
And I scored a vintage Radio Flyer tricycle for $9.95. Saylor's in ♥♥
they sold out SO fast...in the time it took me to give my daughter a bath and put her to bed!

We have a DAV in Kansas City that I love!!! It is my favorite thrift store. It always has great finds!! It looks like you had some good finds as well!! :) Have a great weekend!

Question! What do you do with your used thrift store sheets once you bring them home? Doesn't it bother you that you don't know where they've been?
I've been tempted to buy sheets and pillows from thrift stores in the past but even if they look and smell clean, the idea of sleeping on someone else's used stuff grosses me out!
I wanted a quilt kit!! I guess I wasnt fast enough..

oh gosh! I knew if you got there before me you'd get all the good stuff, LOL! my friends just told me about it last night. I was planning on going this weekend. probably shouldn't have spent $25 at Salvation Army then....but I found the most amazing vintage curtains and aprons and..!
I was wondering what happened to those quilt kits. I have a stack of vintage sheets myself but it's so tempting to buy the kit with pre-cut squares (I hate cutting)! Congrats!
it's official. it's worth it to fly to springfield just for the thrifting. and i tried to buy a kit but was too late, so i would love to be one of the "happy people"! :]
I wish I could find stuff like that at the thrift store here in Juneau Alaska.
I went on the Red Velvet Art site to buy one of you quilt kits. I saw two of them there and put one in my cart and clicked back to look at some other things. I went back to the cart 30 seconds later to find that someone had just purchased the kit I was about to purchase. haha. Hot items.

I was so happy to have got a quilt kit.. you should have seen me rush home from shopping. sit on the couch without taking my coat off and pick one of them out so fast.. my husband thought I was CRAZY! for those patterns maybe I am :)

i drove by that store 4 or 5 times today and they were always packed. i'll go in 2 weeks when it's calmed down. i bet i will miss all the good stuff! haha!
This makes me want to go thrift shopping REAL bad.
My mom has that top sheet - the pink and orange one - in her closet. Too funny!
