The fan works! The Emerson brand name (and in aqua!) is what sold me on it since it's Ruby's middle name. One less 'm' but I'm not going to get technical. The Catherine Holm bowl was tucked in a busy cabinet in a flea market in Ada, OK and I almost left it there but they are so hard to come by and I can learn to love almost any shade of vintage blue. The Duaflex camera has a spot that is going to mark up every picture I take with it but I'm excited to finally be able to experiment with it. The badges and necklace are just for fun.
I had to pass up a gorgeous victorian tufted love seat in yellow velvet and a set of six electric blue Eames chairs since we didn't have a way to bring them home in our little car full of people. That and the price tags! I've been wanting to hit up the local flea markets this week for a vintage play kitchen. I think it's the weather.
xoxo,
Rachel

Love that blue bowl!
...and yes, the warmer and sunnier weather sure makes you want to go thriftning! Good luck with finding a kitchen for the kids to play with!
all this story about thrifting is making me want to do so! I have yet to find flea markets here in Birmingham as I am still new to the area!
that fan is amazing! such a great find :) and don't you love it when you find a treasure tucked away that others passed by?? :) bowls are so functional you just can't go wrong....plus it's gorgeous!
happy thrifting...its in the air alright :)
i found an emerson fan a few yrs ago and have loved it. mine is red in the center and also works!
ada?!?! my mom grew up in atoka, ok. are you from the ada area?
I LOVE that fan! I have been on the hunt for the perfect vintage fan for a looong time.
Great finds! Love the fan
I want a vintage aqua/turquoise fan so much. For some reason. I think they're very pretty. I peruse Etsy all the time and favorite all the best ones. Lol. Someday I might even buy one. :) Love yours!
What a lovely fan! Good luck play kitchen hunting. Sounds like a fun way to spend a weekend afternoon. : )
I have that exact same bowl! My mom has had it for years and I always thought it was so pretty.
awesome finds (and you know i love that catherine holm lotus pattern!) i need to go out hunting soon.
those cameras are really easy to clean. you should google the instructions.
the whyte's,
my dad was born in Atoka! My grandparents live in Ada and we visit them a lot.
So lucky to find that bowl!!! I found the same camera last weekend as well for $5 at a thrift store I havent tested it out yet to see if it works..
I agree...this nicer weather is more conducive to thrifting than say..the snow and cold we only had a few weeks ago! Your finds are great ;)
Oh wow, I'm so envious! I've been dreaming of getting that exact same bowl! You rarely come across Catherine Holm items in Ireland, and you never come across second hand Eames chairs! It makes me want to go to the States on a thrifting holiday :)
pretty finds.
It's super easy to take apart the Duaflex and clean it- then your TTV's will be spotless. I have four Duaflex's all at different levels on dust so that if I want a gritty image I can get it but when I was a clean sharp TTV I', covered too.
Ruby's middle name is Emmerson? That's my last name (two Ms and all)! My duaflex has some spots, but I actually really like the look - a little dirt gives your TTV shots character!
Love your finds as usual! I just had to tell you that Ruby Emmerson is such a beautiful name. I think you and I were separated at birth- Emmerson was my favorite baby name before I had children. My husband didn't agree, so we went with Emmett instead for our first. Oh, and Isla (pronounced I-La) for our baby girl (who will eventually be in the same grade as Ruby). xo, Abbey
Loving the bowl! I've been a thrifting maniac all week! Must be something in the air ;)
I have been keeping my eye on a vintage fan at my ils house. I know if I ask for it they would give it to me.
Love love the Holm bowl--you are a lucky girl!!
I TOTALLY have that bowl! I think every single old person on the Shuswap does in fact. I had no idea they were such a hot item!
wow.. awesome scores! i just found two plates that look like you bowl, so now i'm off to research catherine holm!
