The Part Where I Start Yet Another Project

This is the start of organizing my blocks for Sebastian's new quilt. He's getting a full size bed for his birthday so I've got a little over a month to get this finished. I took color and pattern inspiration from an image I found online of the Avalon Hotel in Beverly Hills. Brett watched the kids all afternoon so I could get started on this monster. He deserves an afternoon out on the open road with his Vespa, don't you think?

I'll share progress as I go. It won't fit in my studio unless I move our dining room table into the corner so working in big chunks of time is rather important if we want to be able to make it through to use the bathroom. I have most of my blocks stitched together and ironed flat so the next step is choosing what kind of pattern I want them in and pinning rows and columns. This makes project #6 in the works!

What did you do this weekend?
xoxo,
Rachel

I had a pretty chill weekend of shopping, hanging out with friends, and journaling.

I really want to make a blanket or quilt someday. Your post is so inspiring.

You remind me of me. I have so many projects in the works right now, not to mention multiple knitting projects. It's insane. The squares colors look great!

Can't wait to see the progress you make on it. My mother was a part of a quilting circle and would make beautiful quilts but I always only saw the end result so I'm not quite sure how to tackle one myself but I love to sew and need a new project. Thanks for sharing this new one with us, good luck with it.

i did finish a project over the weekend, refinishing a new desk chair, did some baking, spent some time at the park blowing bubbles with the kids... it was a good weekend!

We took the kids bumper bowling this weekend. I love seeing them so excited about something. We saw some friends, had my son's last soccer game in the freezing wind and rain, went to church, went over to my in-laws' for dinner. It was good. I love seeing all your projects. Can't wait to see this one when it's finished. I wish I could make stuff like that!
