The June Inspiration Wall
This wall of cheap clipboards from Wal-Mart has been one of my best late night ideas. It's been a practical way to keep things colorful on such a big wall, served as my inspiration board, and allowed me to practice the habit of rearranging without things getting too out of control around here. You can see the walls of seasons past here.
A lot of the images I put on my clipboards are from magazines I find at garage sales or catalogs I receive (Urban Outfitters, J. Crew, Anthropologie, etc.) and little bits of crafting left overs. I try to change it out every month according to seasons and trends and upcoming projects. Right now it's full of summer time images and colors and things that always make me want to sit down and make something pretty.
I got Brett the 'Let's Stay Home' print from Ashley G for his birthday in April and hope to get it framed soon. Until then, it's hanging in a safe spot where little hands can't pull it down without having to make a lot of noise moving a large bench.
How do you stay inspired?
xoxo,
Rachel

I love your inspiration wall. I've been meaning to do something like this, but haven't figured out where to put it! I think my biggest source of inspiration is blogs -catching up on my reader always makes me want to create something.
Love it! I have a huge corkboard with pictures & paint chips, postcards, etc but this is so much cleaner. Will definetly be using this idea. Now, can you tell us about that cute white hanging light??
The white hanging light is just a wire basket I spray painted white and hung over a bare energy efficient bulb. It hangs a little off to one side and used to be over my sewing machine before I rearranged. Ha!
love love love this idea. if only I could hammer into my walls... i'm renting so very soon ill move to anew house and I can!
have always wanted to do this.
thanks for sharing.
LOVE this!!! :))
i have one clip board hanging in front of me right now that needs a little change up!
xo.
i love your inspiration wall... its such an awesome idea!!!
Love the idea of the wall and also the Let's Stay Home print. Off to get one for myself!
love love love it! just need to find a good wall to do it in my house :)
i think this is a fabulous and inexpensive way to change your artwork. I've been trying to think of something different for my sons room, this might just be it!

Ooh, this is a great idea. I like to make frames out of unused stretcher bars, hang them on my wall and then tape up my inspirations and art work inside the frames. It gives my scattered, craziness the illusion of organization.
I just love these, Rachel!
this is such a great way to add color and interest to a wall! i actually just made a few clipboards into chalkboards. i clip pictures in them too. such a fun, easy (and cheap!) project
Looks like this month is going to be good!
I love this idea! You can always change things out and keep so many beautiful, inspirational images up!
I/so/enjoy/your/blog/and/artistic/talents.
sum1 named Rachel is a very clever grl! :D
I love the clipboard idea! I bought gallery wire from Ikea and have two rows of it strung up in my bedroom. I'm guilty of leaving the same stuff up for too long, though.
I have lots of tears from vintage mags, photos, ticket stubs, set lists, sunglasses, etc. I love having something adaptable and flexible.
what a great idea! cheap, easy, non-permanent (important for artists who find new pieces to hang up every week!) and clever! thanks so much for sharing!
Gorgeous! What a great idea!!!
where did you get that cute "lets stay home" graphic?
I love love it!
