Proud of My Little Brother

The first part of our vacation last week involved going to my brother's Flight School graduation. He is now a trained helicopter pilot and without going into too many details (because I know he'd rather me not share too much) he's just had an intense year of training, studying, flying, and learning about one very large, very expensive machine. We got to see them taking off and landing on base at night and it was pretty exciting.

The graduation was held inside a flight museum on base. It reminded me a little of the movie 'Night At The Museum 2"!

My dad and granddad pinned him for the second time in his Army career.

It was an honor to be able to go and celebrate such an accomplishment with him and the rest of my family.

This is what was going on on the back stairs while I was playing photographer. I had Ruby in her sling on my hip this whole time, too!

We got some great family shots with Sebastian sitting off to the side being uncooperative. I finally bribed him with ice cream to get a shot with Uncle Joe. Yes, it's my go to bribe.

I'm not sure I told you how proud I am of you, Joe. You've worked really hard this year and deserve a few days of sleeping in as long as you want. Love you!

xoxo,
Rachel

I LOVED seeing these pictures. My grandfather was one of the first flight instructors at that school. He still lives nearby, and I always loved going in there and listening to him tell me about the ones he flew, with whatever president on board, over which country, etc.

So nice to hear other people with good memories there.
