Abra Cadabra

I've replaced the old chairs with the new ones.

I spray painted a wooden candelabra with Krylon paint in Celery. Three thin coats.

I'm thinking about painting Ruby's high chair white so it'll fit in with the rest of the crowd. The table is from Craigslist, too. It's kind of wonky and needs another coat of white paint to cover up some art projects from months past but it's shape is great.

Sebastian and I have been having some interesting conversations lately. One of the running themes has been how much he loves anything that is 'red all over'. He wants a new house that is all red and has twenty train rooms and a big swimming pool. He thinks we should paint these yellow chairs red.

Don't worry. I don't keep red spray paint in the house.

He also told me in the car today that he wants Daddy to come home. Me, too, son. Me, too.

xoxo,
Rachel

  2. Looks great! I love the look of the chairs and the table. I am looking for similar chairs to make my solid wood table look more contemporary and stylish!

I also think your high chair would look great painted in a bold color!

  3. I love your dining room, Rachel!! Those chairs are so great. Great choice of color for the candelabra. <3

We have the same highchair, in Maple. :)

Hang in there, hoping you more fun times and cute convos with Sebastian until Brett returns.

  4. Oh, it all looks so fantastic together. I agree about painting the high chair...white, bright...maybe the same colour as the chairs? Or the same as the candelabra? Anyway, it's looking lovely!

  5. The kitchen nook looks precious! I really like it. I think you should go for painting the high chair. I just saw a white painted high chair on Design Sponge today, and it looked so cute next to the table. It blended right in. I say, trust your instincts!

  9. Awww. That's a lot of red! I like your color scheme in the dining room, it is peaceful, as dinnertime should be!

Clipboards -- I have been looking EVERYwhere for clipboards to do that inspiration wall like you do, and can't find them anywhere. Even with back-to-school already in season! I'm going to try the thrift stores next and hope I get lucky. They are such a great idea and can't wait to finally set mine up!

  15. Oh painting that beautiful high chair ! I think I might pass out attempting to something like that. Covering up beautiful wood is such a no no in my book.

I love the chairs and the new candelabra.

  21. Thanks, Rachel! I guess both the Wal-Marts in my area do not have them. I can only find the plastic kind. Target doesn't have them either, so I'm hoping Staples has the ones I want! If not I'll try a thrift store. Thank you for letting me know!
