Brett has been away at LTC (ROTC Army camp) for two full days, which is the longest we've gone without him at our house in the past. We have 26 days left. This is about how we feel about that.
In the meantime, we're holding down the fort and being a little more patient with each other.
However, we're not opposed to using ice cream as a crutch.
xoxo,
Rachel

28 solid days of no seeing him? hmmm. that is sad. BUT! you have something super exciting to look forward to, plus 2 little mini's at home with you :) plus maybe some time to get your craft on?
hang in there! xxoo.
throw a brownie in with your ice cream then you may even be glad you don't have to share it!
hang in there!
:( I wish I could say it gets better but it doesn't really until they come home. When my husband deployed to Iraq and our youngest was 11 months, the only way I could get him to sleep was to let him sleep with daddy's shirt that daddy had worn.
Man their little faces when dad finally comes home though. Best experience I swear. The look of wonder in their eyes that he's here and they can touch him again is amazing.
Good Luck Rachel. It's rough but you're a strong woman with a good support system. You can do this!
The days will fly by...I can only imagine how hard it is though! Stay strong! <3
heehee, the suggestion to add a brownie isn't a bad one. I think I would have that same frown after two days too. Wishing you loads of sweet times with your little people and patience as you await his return!
It sounds like Hope and I may need to come and pay you a visit. Maybe a park day soon? We'll have to talk. ;) xo
hang in there!
BUT in support of you and your family...i'll have ice cream this afternoon too :)
(your children are beautiful!)
Phil was away for two days and I thought I'd go mad. I hope the days fly by!!! xo, Abbey
I hope time flies for you! We'll be heading to Germany in the next couple months. I'm due in February and my husband will have to come back to the states in April for 2 months so I'm not looking forward to that already! I wish they would have just sent him while we were still in the states instead. Silly Army.
Military life can be so difficult! My husband and I just moved to a new base and he's been deployed- 3 weeks down! :) Just be reassured- I know from when my husband was in boot camp- you're ALL he thinks about! write to him as much as possible! Plus, there is NOTHING like being reunited after a seperation like that! He will be so sweet, so polite, and so loving! :)
ah, look at her sweet face!! hang in there! I can't imagine a whole month without daddy..
oh sweeties! you're an awesome mama - hang tight! (much love.)
LTC is a nice start for upcoming deployments. I assume next summer he'll do LDAC and that's a tad longer. So you they ease you into it, which is nice. Time apart is time apart though, whether 28 days or 12 months. I hope it flies for you Rachel and remember we're here for you :)
PS. Are you planning on visiting Knox for his graduation? If so, head to Elizabeth Town and the Louisville Slugger museum, you won't be disappointed. Knox is a beautiful post too.
I'm so sorry you have to have your hubby away for so long. My husband went to work in Wyoming for 4 weeks when our first born was 9 months old. It was really hard, but having him come home was AMAZING! It will fly by for you much quicker since you have a toddler too. :) Hang in there!
aw girl, that must be tough! it will be sooo amazing to see him at the end of those 28 days! hang in there!
