We're Ready For More Marshmallows

Ready for The Chill
We went out and bought landscaping bricks last weekend and set this up after dark with Sebastian's assistance. We toasted (burned) marshmallows that first night and hot dogs the next. There is no longer an excuse to wait until my house is clean to have friends over!

Ready for The Chill
We're two bricks short of a fire pit, though! Ha! Maybe next weekend we'll get around to that part.

My dad was an Eagle Scout so I know how to build a mean fire. Now all we need are some fantastically large tree stumps to sit on while we're wrapped up in blankets and swap stories from high school. I've got graham crackers and marshmallows stocked!

Fire pit + chilly nights = favorite thing about fall!

xoxo,
Rachel

I've recently dug a fire-pit in my back garden, but haven't got around to trying it yet (too much rain!). I'm also on the lookout for a couple of good logs for seats. Can't wait for a nice evening without too much to do to get out there and cook some sausages!

Love it! Thanks, also, for the Tweet Baby link...I've been looking for an amber necklace for my little one.

So lovely! I cannot wait to have my own yard (no more apartment) so that we can have a fire pit!

What a fab idea...it is spring where I live but it still gets cool in the evening. I will be suggesting this project to my hubbie for this coming weekend!

I should have went your route for a fire pit rather than wasting my entire spring (and like 3 bottles of ibuprofen) making ours. Yours looks so much more inviting! I still cringe at mine from time to time...I totally resent it!

And YES to logs around the fire! :)

so fun! my husband built us one last spring and it's sad to say we've only used it once or twice. (stupid mosquito-y summer!) I think I need to go buy some marshmallows as a reminder for us to get out there a few more times before it gets too cold.

It's so fun to sit by the fire in your own backyard! What a fun mommy you are, my dear! My boys built a fire pit last year and I looove it :) They went camping this past weekend and ate a whole bunch of hot dogs and gooey burnt marshmallows...mmmmmm.

I've been dying for some cooler weather so we can start our fire pit, I think we might actually be able to get ours going this weekend. There is nothing better than sitting by a fire on a cool night...

This is hands-down my favorite thing about summer/early fall. When we bought out house last year, a fire pit was the first improvement we made to the property. However, I'm sad about the current burn-ban our county is currently under..really hoping for a good rain soon so I can get back to the fire pit. :)
