We're sort of packing.
We should hear if we're getting the rental that we both like on Monday and are hoping to be out of this house by the end of the month. That's not much time for relocating a family AND enjoying Thanksgiving festivities AND getting that overdue hair cut AND celebrating a bestie's birthday AND finishing some big ol' projects AND keeping up with the housework, etc., etc. You've got your own laundry list (no pun intended) of things that need to get done, too, right?
I've been chomping at the bit to get the packing started but since we haven't yet secured our next home I thought I should at least wait until the ink had dried on the lease. However, I couldn't completely resist starting in on parts of my studio space that I know I won't be using in the next month.
These beauties are currently sitting in large plastic tubs and will no longer be spilling out into the walk space on the way to the kitchen if we land this next rental. I'll have a designated studio with huge windows and hard wood floors and...wait for it...a door!
A door to shut when we have company come over!
We can have company!
I'm kind of excited, thus, the stacks of folded vintage sheets. I have to say I was surprised at how much this pile has grown since the last time I sold my quilt kits but I'm looking forward to sending them out into the world again in quilt kit form sometime in the early part of the new year.
Surely you have a strange collection of something. Do tell!
xoxo,
Rachel

I'm jealous of your collection, too!!! I haven't had a great time finding old sheets like you!
i to must confess that i have a crazy collection of vintage sheets and fabric! i also collect vintage ribbon and have over 75 vintage children's patterns! and i am slowly getting a nice collection of vintage floral suitcases!!!
yes, my to-do list is totally random and never-ending! I can't imagine how cute your quilt kits are - these sheets are amazing! I find them now and then at Estate Sales, but not near as often as I'd like to! have a great week! -diane
such a lovely collection.
I am a total nerd and have a collection of about 75 model VW bugs, all colors and sizes. I fell in love with that car when I was about 8 and just started picking them up when I saw them. They are from all over the world, and range from a 1/18 scale model to a teensy silver charm. So weird, but I can't get rid of them.
so beautiful! i love the greens & blues :)
oh my gosh, I am so unbelievably JEALOUS of your vintage sheet collection!!!! amazing! good luck with the move :)
it's not strange... just a closet full of white hippie blouses.
ps. i really w-a-n-t that yellow picnic fabric.
I have a strange accumulation of clothes that used to fit me before I had a baby.... does that count as a collection? I kid..
Yay for moving!
Oh wow! I love your vintage sheet collection. It's simply gorgeous!
I think those stacks of vintage sheets look lovely!!! I even spotted a piece that looked similar to a set I had as a kid! Love your blog and your vintage style!
Oh can't wait to see the decor pics of your new place! We are moving again too in February but since I barely unpacked for this house it won't be much of a problem to pack again.
I have a growing collection of vintage telephones and embrodiery hoops. I have big plans for the hoops but in the meantime I snatch up all that I can find.
Your collection is lovely! So many pretty patterns & colors! I love all the stripes! Makes me want to run to Goodwill on my lunch break!
Just this weekend I brought home a collection of old thread (100+) and vintage patterns (70) that use to belong to my grandma!
nice collection of fabrics!
I have a few...a collection of vintage sheets, wind up toys and fabric with characters so cute I cant cut them...oh and three vintage doll making books..its a strt .ha ha
It's so funny - I have at least 8 of the sheets you have in your collection! It makes me think that maybe there was only about 20 sheet designs produced from 1955 to 1979 in the midwest.
HAHA! I know all about your door issues:) we are actually in the process of remodeling our house and our new bedroom is about to get its own door!!!! FYI doors on bedrooms? necessary.
hee hee--I just folded all my vintage sheets last night. Reorganizing/purging craft space and it feels SO NICE!! I need so little really, yet have accumulate TOO much! I have a vintage polaroid camera collection that I just reduced to 3 white rainbow ones. And then there is the growing owl/deer figurines.
I sound so old lady-ish!! ;D
Fingers crossed you received good news on the rental. I am convinced being able to close the door to your very own creative space is better than gold!
i really cant wait for your quilt kits the last time they sold out before i could buy one!
xoxo

I cant wait for your next quilt kit!! They sold out to fast last time!
Oh, my...I am drooling...I have a tiny, tiny stack of vintage sheets compared to yours, but I love them. So pretty!
good luck! i long for the days of a separate art studio! for now, i live in a 375 sq ft stupid apartment. ha.
What a fabulous collection!
I love that your collection is all color sorted! i am obsessed with my vintage sheet collection & the boyf just doesn't get it. your new studio sounds amazing!!
