Sponsor Giveaway #2

"I started my blog, B's Wig Shoppe, in June of last year right after I graduated college as a way to catalog my journey to becoming whatever it is I'm supposed to be (an ongoing mission). It's full of things I'm making, cooking, sewing and the parts of the world that I find inspiring. For Valentine's Day this year, I made this little love note set so Husband and I can write 'sweet nothings' to each other. I found it so entertaining, I thought I'd give one away!"

Just add your name and tell us how you feel about Valentine's Day most years. Love it or hate it? Winner will be announced on Friday afternoon so get your name in!

xoxo,
Rachel

I think Valentine's day is sweet. Especially for kids in like, the 5th grade when the're just discovering what species girls are and go all <3 crazy and right "pass it" and "circle one" notes to the significant other in front of said child. :)

  2. I heart valentine's day! It's an opportunity to share the love we have with those we care about most.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I love Valentine's Day! I've only had 1/6 with the husband (he's a soldier), so I like to make it count when I can. I don't like to get too "commercialized" about it, but there's something fun about hearts and little love notes that gets me every time!

  4. I used to be neutral on Valentine's Day, but this is our first V-Day as married people so I'm really excited!!

    ReplyDelete
  5. I'm neutral when it comes to Valentine's Day, since I'm not with anyone right now.

  6. I love Valentine's Day! Although this year I'm sure I'll hate it - my husband is going to Arizona for work that weekend. Lame.

  7. I love Valentine's day. I love hearts and pink and red and reason to show love to my husband...but for some strange reason for the past 5 Valentines days we have spent them apart, I am making sure we spend this one together!

    ReplyDelete
  8. This Valentines Day is extra special because it will be our first one as a married couple. In fact, our one year anniversary will be the very next week after Valentines Day. It is a special time of year for me for sure.

  9. I love V-Day ♥ My hubbie spoils me :)

  10. I like Valentine's Day a lot. I would like it more if I could spend more time with my sweetheart...but I'll take what I can get. Maybe next year? ;)

  11. I love valentine's "season"! I'm not the biggest fan of all things pink and red, but I do like making notecards and baking treats. It doesn't matter if you're in a relationship or not, spend it with friends you love or family! plus on feb 15th all the candy is 1/2 off.. so there's that.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Now i've met my one and only, Valentine's Day is a wonderful excuse for us to spend a day being slushy and sentimental. It's also usually the only day of the year that he actually cooks for me! (he's not lazy, we just don't live together yet!)

  13. Most years I hate Valentine's Day... even when I am in a relationship. This year I have vowed to make it special for both my Valentine and myself :). I think it's a totally cheesy holiday... but it's here so why not make the best of it!

    ReplyDelete
  14. I used to hate Valentines Day because I always seemed to be single but when I met my husband I fell in love with it. He has made it a really special day for us since the beginning.

    ReplyDelete
  15. considering that i never have a boyfriend, i still ike the holiday. i like red and pink. and chocolate hahaha.
last year my dad had a surgery for his cancer the day before valentine's and so now i think the holiday might be lucky since he is good and healthy. :-)
    cute giveaway!

  16. How cute is that?! I love Valentine's Day, and my hubby tolerates it because he loves me. :)

  20. I love Valentine's day. Although we should spread a little love everyday Valentines Day is perfect day to hug and kiss family and friends a little more and tell them how much we love and appreciate them.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I hated it in high school. Thought it was too cheesy. BUT THEN my boyfriend (now husband) left a yellow rose in my locker after school with a rhyming note that lead to another clue with another yellow rose, each at a place where we had a date, and ending where we had our very first date--at the top of a fire tower with the remaining roses and dinner ... So I kinda like Valentine's day now and blame him ;)

  22. I really like valentines day! Here in Finland its called "Friendship day" but I also like to have that romantic side for it :)

    ReplyDelete
  23. I love Valentine's Day! It's a good excuse for us to go eat at our favorite restaurant!

    ReplyDelete
  24. i love Valentines day! My moms catering company makes giant heart shaped chocolate chip cookies (from my grandma's secret recipe) and i get to eat all the "broken hearts". Who wouldn't love that?!
that is a sweet little love note!

  27. I used to not be a huge Valentine's person - which is odd since I've dated my now husband since 14. However, now I think it's a good reason to celebrate! Any reason to go on a date & celebrate your love is a good holiday in my eyes! I love a date night with the hubs!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Adorable! I have always loved V-day in all it's cheesy goodness. Candy and flowers? I'm there!

  29. I absolutely LOVE valentines day, each and every single year. I'm not into the "bring me flowers or else-Hallmarkish" valentines, but love little love notes and sweet gesture. Not just on Valentines day either -- all year.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I love Valentine's day. I think it's a great chance to tell everyone special in your life how much you love them! It also helps that my husband and I started dating right around Vday and then 4years later decided to have our wedding a month before as well!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Such a cute idea-! I have always enjoyed V-Day, regardless of if I'm in a relationship or not. I'm in love with love I guess!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I have a love/hate relationship with Valentine's day. I wish I had a Valentine, then I might like it more but usually I attempt to boycott it. But I love random acts of love and affection. So as you can see I am on the fence.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I love Valentine's Day because of all the cute cards and candy! :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think the idea of Valentines Day is very cute and sweet, but often times it leads to high expectations that never get met. Much better in elementary school when you give all of your friends cute little cards :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. i have always loved valentines day bc my parents always made it special for us. my dad and my lil brother would always get us girls flowers and candy and my mom would give us a lil surprise.
and i love giving love notes to my friends:)

now that im married its just gotten better.

  36. I like Valentines day in general although you don't need an excuse to be romantic! I would love to win this set as I'm just about to move out of my appartment with my boyfriend for 6 months and letter writing is going to be really important.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I have very mixed feelings about Valentines day now. I used to dislike, mainly because I had no one to celebrate it with, and then because I disliked the idea of only being able to show your love on one day. But recently, after getting to spend the Christmas holidays with my boyfriend, I am feeling oddly more in love and am so loving the idea of valentines day and showing him how much I love him. :)
I really like the decorations and lots of pretty, cute, love stuff that comes out around valentines day though. :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. I really love Valentines Day, especially now that I have kids. My first Valentine's being married was awful though, my husband thought he didn't have to do anything and I wasn't too happy! {I cried all day!} He has since learned that lesson.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I have always loved Valentines Day. My birthday is the day before, so I've always associated it with love from my family which takes a lot of the pressure off.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I love valentines day. I prefer a homemade gift or a homemade card anyday over something store bought. I love this idea of writing love notes back and forth to each other. So sweet!

  41. I think Valentines day is such a special day to celebrate, and show how much we care....
I'm really lucky in that I quite often get spoiled with "just because" presents...so any time i get to treat my boy is fine by me!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I've never been in a relationship that went through valentine's day so I spend most valentine's days trying to be positive about being single :)
That usually includes a sweet chick flick with some friends and lotsa junk food :)

    ReplyDelete
  43. I'm neutral (:
I just can't stand vday being
over commercialized and all that x.x

    ReplyDelete
  44. most years, i don't care for it. just because i think people should show they appreciate others year round, not just on a specific Hallmark day.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Love it! Though I'm not a fanof pink and red together, I am a fan of my husband making me dinner and feeling special!

  48. I'm on the fence about Valentine's Day. Last year we made sushi for the first time at home, so that was fun. This is really cute!

    ReplyDelete
  49. cute set!

My husband and I have never celebrated Valentine's Day, even when we were dating. I felt he should take me out and buy me things all the time, not just once a year, lol (kidding....kind of...!) and so usually we don't even remember it. Now that we have two kids, one whose birthday is a few days off from Valentine's Day (and a little girl) you can bet all her decorations for her first year or two will be Valentine's Day oriented! Hello fuscia, maroon, cream, and pink!!

  53. I'm a fan of Valentine's Day. I don't use it only to show my husband how much I love him, but also our kids, my sisters, parents, and his parents how much we care for them. My mum had surgery (on a stage 3 advanced tumor) on Valentine's day three years ago, and is still alive and kicking today..cancer free! So Valentine's will always be special for me because of that.

    ReplyDelete
  54. This is so cute! We don't really do up Valentine's Day, it being a made up holiday to sell cards and candy and flowers and such, but I do like to make cutesy V-day crafts because it's all about my favorite colors! LOL! AND...my birthday is two days before it so I get fun stuff anyway! lOL!

  57. I wish I liked Valentine's Day more. I just never know what to DO. Somehow I find it easier to make little gifts and cards for my girl friends than for my husband! Or maybe it's just cause girls are more into that stuff so it's funner to give to them.

This little note set is just toooo cute!

  58. i love valentine's day. always have, even when there was no guy in my life. now i get to celebrate with 3 valentines this year...my hubby Corby, my sweet boy Oliver, and our little BabyGirlThompson that will be here in a couple weeks just in time for Valentine's Day!

  65. hi my name is cait :)
In the past I would always wear pink or red and heart earrings and give out valentine's to my friends but whatever relationship I was in at the time .. I felt that it was a lot of pressure and someone would end up disappointed. Ever since meeting Blaine and falling head over heels, valentine's day has been super special and it's just another day we get to celebrate our love. Wow, how's that for cheesy? hehe
ps. I still give out valentine's to my friends :)

  71. I always love Valentine's Day! Even back when I was single. I think it's my love of pink and red and hearts and candy. Every year, I ALWAYS hit up the after Valentine's Day sales at Target and stock up on pink hearty cuteness.

    ReplyDelete
  72. My favorite Valentine's Day was in 4th grade. I made an amazing robot Valentine's box for my classmates to stick my cards in. It was a shoebox with toilet paper roll arms and paper towel roll legs. He was covered in tin foil. He was beautiful. Plus he won the competition for most creative box. ^_^

I may make one again this year just for fun! It'll make Valentine's special for my husband and I. ^_^

  80. I love Valentine's Day! I love the crafts, the sentiments, the loveliness of red and pink.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Valentines day is a nice idea, but I would much rather be treated like that every day! And my husband is good at spoiling me with little surprises everyday! Even if it's just an extra long hug, a long walk with the pup, or my favorite coffee drink from down the street!

    ReplyDelete
  82. I'm a huge fan of Valentine's Day. Anything that combines chocolate, hearts, and handwritten notes is right up my alley.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I actually really like valentines day even though I'm not seeing anyone or anything. I get together with my family and my mom will make heart shaped cookies or pancakes and my little sisters will make valentines cards. Its a good time to tell friends and family how much I love them.

    ReplyDelete
  84. It's an awesome day however, we need to tell our loved ones we love them all year long. Do cute crazy things in the middle of August, May, every month. Let's have Valentine's Day once a month!!!

  95. Normally I could give or take Valentine's Day. While I LOVE the decorations and all the pink and red.....well, I just don't get too into the actual holiday celebration. This year I am SO not into Valentine's Day....since I'm getting divorced and all. But maybe in the next year or two I'll be excited about it all over again. You just never know!

  100. I've always liked Valentine's Day, though I haven't ever had a "real" Valentine in my 23 years of life, just special times with friends and weird boys who gave me odd notes...

    Here's to finding a real Valentine in 2010! <3

    ReplyDelete
  101. I think that Valentine's day isn't that special..because I think when you love someone you show it every second you are together and not only on Valentine's day :) Anyway..I like to celebrate it in a cute way (but no pink hearts)..

    ReplyDelete
  102. i LOVE valentines day. i still have my first "love" valentine, from my 3rd grade boyfriend. on the front was a picture of leonardo dicaprio (my true love) and my 'boyfriend' had written on the back "i will be him." i don't think i will ever forget that. :]

I try to do somehing little on a weekly basis, yes sometimes we get busy but a quick note in the lunch or something like that doesn't take long.

  113. I've always liked Valentines Day. Growing up, my dad always got me, my sister, and mom flowers. Now being married, it fun too, but we always find ways to have the best time and not spend too much money...
usually one of our favorites... grilled cheese, tomato soup, IBC root beer, and candles. fun, no?

    ReplyDelete
  114. Most years I love it! Rarely I hate it. LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  115. My thoughts about valentine's Day...
For my husband & I not so much. I'd much rather receive a card, flowers or treat on any random day. What makes Valentine's Day special for me since I was a very little girl is my Dad! He surprises my two older sisters my Mom and myself with a little somethig special every year, which he picks out himself. Me being the youngest ( remember I am Married...so I am not that young) he still gets me a card that you would give to your 4 year old daughter from her Daddy! I look forward to it every year!!

    ReplyDelete
  116. Valentine's day is a special day set aside just for those in love-it makes you stop and think about the person you love and express it...it's kinda a day made up especially for men to remind them to tell their partners how much they are loved-oh and a little gift goes a long way...believe me!

    ReplyDelete
  117. I've taken Valentine's Day back! After always dating people who didn't think it was a big deal, and then being single for a few, I'd had enough! Last year, my dear friend Kristie and I had a Valentine's Day date at a fun Moroccan restaurant, complete with belly dancers! This year, a bunch of girlfriends and I are going to get together and celebrate being single. Who says Valentine's Day is only for lovers? :)

  131. I enjoy valentines day, mostly because I get a nice date with my husband. And he usually throws a little romance in too :)

  132. Most years, I was more of the anti-valentine celebrator. Although this is not the first year I will be in a relationship on valentines day, it is the first time I will be able to celebrate it. Dakota was in Iraq last year. I'm actually pretty excited about it this year...it will be so sweet!

  133. I think valentines day is a cute holiday! so much red, pink, and hearts!! who wouldn't love a season where love is everywhere in the air?? <3

  134. hi. i'm jill. for me, valentine's day is usually a pretty and light-hearted little day to celebrate. i'm not so big on the commercial aspect of it, but it is fun to bask in a whole day dedicated to love and to enjoy cute decorations and sweet treats galore with the ones that i love!

    ReplyDelete
  135. Even when I'm single, I love it. LOVE IT. Any holiday where pink and red are the colors, and we decorate with hearts? Pure, candy coated awesome. Even if my boyfriend doesn't believe in celebrating. Who cares? I'll make my mom my valentine, or my patients at work. LOVE THIS DAY.

  136. Now that I'm married I am super excited for Valentines Day! My hubby likes to do sweet things so I'm super excited for our first vday together..but when I was in highschool vday sucked because I never seemed to have a boyfriend at that time. haha

    Cute giveaway!

  137. My husband treats me like his "sweetheart" every day! just marked 5 years of marriage... and 10 years since we first met.
I wish I could get more organized & be able to make more of my Valentine's... I love sending cards but Feb 14th creeps up so quickly that I sometimes just "slap something together" so I can get it in the mail.
I'm also guilty of sending cards late - knowing they won't arrive by V-Day! but I love letting people know how much they mean to me! More importantly, I know how much they love "getting mail" delivered by the postman... stickers, slick cards, funny jokes, mushy sentiments - all wrapped up in a tidy pink or red envelope.
    Yep - V-Day rocks....

  138. I love this giveaway! I mostly love Valentines Day. It's even better when my husband does something cute. Last year, he figured out how many day's we've known each other and filled a jar with that number of sweethearts. It was adorable!

  139. these are so beautiful-- i usually love vday but i'm still trying to decide how i feel about it this year. <3

  140. I think Valentines Day is adorable. Its so much fun to craft with lace, pink, hearts and red. I love it, plus all the sweet stuff is pretty tasty too. :o)

  141. as an adult i absolutly hate valentines day because i always spend it alone. but as a child and in high school i loved it because that meant i always got a rose from my father who i love dearly. most embarrassing was the stupid songs that you could buy and send to one another in high school. let me just say i don't miss being sung too....

  142. Valentine's Day was more special when I was single. Now that I'm married my husband doesn't get into it as much. He loves me but he doesn't really do anything. He will get me a card and we will maybe go out to eat. I really love doing something special for my son.

  143. I really enjoy spending valentines day with the ones you love, and doing things to show your love in creative ways. My boyfriend and I are going to try to cook a meal and dessert this year together, something new and we're really excited! =D

  144. i've always loved valentine's day... single or taken. this year will be extra special... first valentine's that i can say my valentine is my husband. :)

  145. I have a love/hate relationship with Valentines day. I absolutely adore the decor (hearts, lace, pink, and red) but I have never had the pleasure of having a valentine of my own. For now, I'll just have to show my love to my family and friends :)

  146. Valentine's Day is precious. I tend to forget to show the people I love how much I truly love them. Valentine's Day is a nice little reminder of the blessings I have.

  147. I used to like it when I was a kid because you would always get great valentines and candy in class. Then i grew to not like it and finally came around again because I realized it could be a lot of fun in college especially with your girlfriends and that it isn't just about boys!!!

  148. valentines day is just OK.
although I do love all the heart decorations :)

  149. so cute!
I neither hate it or love it. I'm in the grey area with this one. I do love the fun color combos, hearts, & cupcake making Though :)

  150. Love it! When I was single, it was an excuse to get dressed up and go out with the girls. And now that I'm married, it a good excuse to stay in for a romantic evening. I love your little journal keeper. Great place to store my special notes from hubby :-)

  151. my hname is Kim! i think valentines day is a sweet... to show the people you care about them. i dont like the 'commercial' part of it all tho. but who doesnt want a nice dinner and a rose... or a picnic... something thought out! <3

  152. I love valentines day when it is treated with honest love and not commercialized to death.
I'm not one to demand to spend it with my someone and go out because I think that we should think about love every day- not just valentines day.

  153. I love valentine's day...sadly I haven't been able to spend valentine's day with my sweetheart in 4 years because we live on two sides of the US, I in Seattle and he in Buffalo...but the last time he visited me in Seattle, he left me notes all around my room...and I keep find them in random places...I love it...and this would be a nice thing to share love notes in...

  154. My perspective changes frequently about Valentines day... mostly I hate it though. Unless I'm working! I work in the service industry, so I enjoy reaping the benefits of happy couples dining out! Is that wrong?

Mostly I feel like there shouldn't be one special day in the year for couples to express how they feel... Why can't it be done on any given Thursday? Here's a little note. It says I love you. And I love you everyday. How sweet is that?

  155. i love valentines day! a day where your love is remembered & candy is received :]

  156. I love Valentine's day and especially now that I have children. Love, Love, that's what I tell my girls all the time and it's a day for "Love, Love"! :)

  157. I think Valentines day is cute as long as single people are getting together and celebrating being single as well. I always did this back in the single girl days with my friends.

    ReplyDelete
  158. I love Valentine's day... I love to bake and all kinds of cuties are out there for this holiday! This will be my last Valentine's as a technical "single" as I will be married this year!

  159. I love Valentine's Day, any day where I get to tell my loved ones how much I love them is a good day!

  160. Valentines day = phooey! Most years I want to skip it. I do love making and receiving valentines from my daughter, niece & nephew, but I'm lucky enough that I don't need a valentines day in order for that to happen!

Love, love, love Valentine's day. Always have. I have never seen it as a bad day with or without someone to share it with. <3

  164. we don't usually have to funds to do something big and extravagant for V-day, so we usually just watch a movie at home and cuddle up. I try to make his favorite dish. It's nice because it's normal; normal loving each other. flowers, fresh, springy flowers make it even better:O)

  165. My name is Alexandra.

And I absolutely adore valentine's day! I never did in the past, but that all changed three years ago. Valentine's day has marked some pretty big moments in my life lately. It was the day my fiance asked me to be his girlfriend (3 years ago) and it was also the day he asked me to marry him (almost a year ago), so it has become my favorite holiday.

  167. Hello! My names is Amerie, I do like vanentine's day because the decorations are always inspiring and cute, plus my darling and I will take any excuse to be able to celebrate our love, it forces us to be creative with our outings, picnics and painting together in parks, I love love, and any extra holiday to celebrate it is just fine with me :)

  168. in the past valentine's day has always bored me. but the last few years i've loved it! the one thing i always love is making pretty cards for my friends and family. it's the best part - telling everyone that i love them :)

  169. I am torn about Valentine's day. For couples, I am not so excited about it... but as a day to celebrate and express how much I love love love my son, I dig it! And it is a fun day to share with "friends you love like family" just how meaningful they are to you.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Valetine's day is nice, but it sometimes has too much expectation tied up with it. My husband and I try to tell each other how important we are every day.

    ReplyDelete
  171. I don't know about Valentines, some years my husband surprises me and some disappoints. I have mixed emotions on that area but I love getting treats and all the fun that goes into for the kids!

    ReplyDelete
  172. I haven't really had any feelings about it either way, I like it now, I think it's a cute holiday for my kids!

  173. Since I've been married...I like Valentines Day a lot more. But honestly, we have more spontaneous romance on other days throughout the year. At least now I always have a Valentine :)

    ReplyDelete
  174. I think it's an over romanticized day but there is still a part of me that wants my husband to surprise me with flowers.

    ReplyDelete
  175. I am valentines' day neutral ... however we do enthusiastically celebrate February 19, which is the anniversary of our engagement :)

    ReplyDelete
  176. I am a true girl and should be entitled to be lavished with gifts on V-day...however...my husband and I have not celebrated it in about 6 years! Not sure why, we're just lazy I guess and have kids!

    ReplyDelete
  177. i love valentines day :) especially dressing up and going out with mi boy! :)

  178. I have always liked valentines day. I only recently have starting equating it with romance... usually it's about giving cards to my friends so it feels like a be-extra-nice day ya know?

    ReplyDelete
  179. I don't care much either way. We don't go out just use it as an extra excuse to do something nice for each other. We never buy a gift, just do something for each other instead. Last year I let him go biking for a whole day at the weekend. Just to say..'i love you, you're a great dad, you work all week now go a play. You deserve a rest!' Me...I got to go shopping...without the kids!
