Wait Just A Minute!

This morning Sebastian cleared all of his Thomas stuff out of the floor where it has been permanently residing in one form of organized mess or another for the duration of our time in this crooked little house (1.5 years) and asked me to put up the goal he got for Christmas from Uncle Joe. We hadn't read the directions properly before and it used to flop over every time he'd hit it. And there were these two extra black rods just sitting under Sebastian's bed...

I'm all about letting him play ball in the house. As long as it's in his room. And if he uses the super light bouncy ball. And doesn't hit his sister. I'd let him do this outside but it's raining today and although rain doesn't melt little boys, I've heard it on good measure that baby girls dissolve right away.

Anyway, I was quite taken aback when he announced earlier this week that Thomas videos were silly and that he wanted Brett to take the new one BACK TO THE LIBRARY WHERE IT BELONGED. Then this morning he decided to clear his floor and I wondered what crazy person had gotten a hold of my little boy and told him to grow up and move on! I wasn't quite ready for Thomas to be replaced.

Thirty minutes later and he wasn't either.

xoxo,
Rachel

Aw! That's so cute and a little sad at the same time, but cute that he decided he still liked Thomas :)

Oh, this makes my heart sad! I do not want my little girl to grow up, but she is already fairly independent for a 1 year old... so maybe I should prepare myself!

How cute! My 2 year old hasn't gotten into Thomas yet, but he's all about trucks and tractors! It doesn't help that his Pa is a real life farmer. He doesn't quite understand yet why he can't go farming every day :)

I let my boys play inside as well! they also have to use the soft balls and keep it on the floor.
here are some good soccer dieas for young ones:
1) buy some light, inexpensive cones and have him kick them over and then use his foot to turn them upright again. It helps them learn foot control and makes dribbling indoors easier!
good luck!

Asher is still obsessed with Thomas, it has gotten less though in recent years, when he was around Sebastian's age we had 3 of the same train in case on got misplaced. Oh, the horror if it got misplaced. Glad Sebastian came to his senses :)

Oh God, I feel your pain :-) My eldest announced about 6 months ago he didn't want to watch Thomas anymore, a little part of my heart broke, he's been so Thomas obsessed since he was 2 and now his little brothers are too. But funnily enough the last month or so he's gotten the bug back and is train obsessed again, although now it's more the tracks, buffers, platforms, switch tracks etc that interest him, I fear we may have a future trainspotter on our hands :-)
