Etsy Eye Candy

I usually spend about twenty minutes of my rationed free time milling through the Favorites categories of designers to see what other people would buy if they had the money to offer up. Here are a few of my favorites. It is almost overwhelming to think of the manpower that goes into producing beautiful things every day.
One of the reasons I support designers like those featured on this website is to bring back the value of hand made. I think its special. I know I can't live without most things that are factory produced in other countries and I'm coming to terms with that. I just can't get away from the idea that supporting artists is a win/win situation.
I took my wares into a local children's shop today to see if they were interested. They kept a few things ransom and I'll hear from them tomorrow about a deal. Here's hoping...

Love the piece on red velvet. Very cool. You are really pretty awesome with your sewing. Loved seeing the pics of you the other day as well. I hate you for your hair. It is too beautiful. Okay. I am out.

just so you know ... as soon as you start doing adult (king) sized quilts, let me know! I love your color choices, and I don't have any babies in my life yet ...

I have a question for you...how do you part with such awesome things you've made? Unless I make something specifically FOR someone, I can't imagine giving it away! Or selling it as the case may be!

Jocelynne,
Its taken me awhile to detach myself from being so emotionally involved in each piece I make. I seriously used to sit and stare at something for a long time after it was finished because I was so proud. We're talking curtains for my first apt. and a fabric book cover and the first bag I made for school books.
I think now its easier because I make so many things. I feel like i'm sending little pieces of prettiness out into the world.

Rachel, thanks for replying! :) I think I know what you mean...the pride in making something so beautiful is amazing! And you definitely have the right attitude about sending pretty things out into the world! Way to go!
