Do you ever keep a list of things to blog about...

...And then forget it all by the time you sit down?
OK, well, its coming back to me in pieces so I can't promise anything stellar tonight. Here are a few fun pics from Date Night.

This little love bird is actually going to be an ornament once his ribbon is reattached. A few of these are going to Holly but I'm putting more in the shop sometime in the next few weeks. It feels like this love fabric is multiplying.

We had some fabulous video footage (or so I thought) of Sebastian chasing them around the backyard and finally picking one up but it didn't turn up on our camera. It'll just rest happily in my memory until about tomorrow afternoon. Anyone else have that problem? I think it has to do with mommy-hood but I'll count my blessings.

So, down to business. You've all heard about the fires in So Cal. I watched a woman named Christie Williams share her story on Wednesday morning on CBS and found her website and then her blog. Our lives are as different as anyone's but we share so many similarities. She was wearing the sweater I had worn the day before when I saw her on the news. She has young children, loves to sew, reads many of the craft blogs I frequent, etc. Her story is like so many thousands of others down south but hearing her story has provided a way for others to help. Her family has set up a website for those who are able to contribute. I've gone through my fabric stash and made up a 'things to make when you've got a place to put them' package to offer something to look foward to when life settles. Fabric is never an immediate need but it will help rebuild the stash that was taken. She shared on the news how she had recently finished the first sewing project with her oldest daughter and how devastated her daughter was knowing it had burned. I'm sure she would appreciate any words of encouragement on her blog if you've got some time.

I've also been tagged by the lovely Jen. So, 7 random facts and then watch out because its your turn!

1. I had the most emotionally up and down day today which probably means cramps tomorrow.
2. I haven't scrapped anything in about two weeks and really miss it.
3. I really dislike talking on the telephone. To anyone. Even my favorite friends. (working on that)
4. I need a haircut.
5. I slept on the living room floor last night with Sebastian because he was keeping Brett awake upstairs. We should've built a fort.
6. I finally have a day planner.
7. I am currently inspired by blurry photos.

Your turn! If you're the tagging kind of blogger, you're it!

Oh, and check out the RVKC blog. Celine's LO's are in and we've got a contest over on Flickr. I've been messing around with the background but I think its staying white. Sneak Peek coming soon. Oh, and if you haven't heard, we've got an exclusive BamPop stamp this month! No Kidding! Its a sweet little polaroid stamp and will be available soon!

Hi Rachel! Thanks for the post on my blog. I totally dig your idea for a Pretty Momma Day!

Yay! Thanks so much for making my birdie ornaments. I think that I will only need 2. And that phone issue...I have the same thing. I don't know what it is. There's times (very often) that I just flat out won't answer the phone because I dread even having the conversation. LOL. The only person that I will always answer for is my husband. And, that's it. :0)

I really dislike talking on the phone too. Half the time I don't even here my phone, I'll put it on vibrate to not wake up my daughter in the morning and not remember to look at it until I get home from work, oh well I say hehe.

Don't you just love date nights? Looks like you had lots of fun!

I'm super excited about the RVAK this month. Dan & I will be celebrating 3 years in November so he promised he'd buy the kit for me as part of my anniversary present. He never buys my anything crafty!

I am in desperate need of a haircut myself. How come someone didn't tell me that having short hair requires more maintenance? I'm starting to feel a mullet growing in. Ha. Ok, so I think I'm going to make my first quilt. I was in NYC and stumbled across Purl and immediately my need to sew came rushing back. I might be emailing you with some questions in the near future... =)

I totally hate talking on the telephone too! Too my boyfriend, family, friends I haven't seen in forever. It makes me feel trapped and you know, I like my hands free, so I can do some heavy duty creating, haha...good to know I'm not the only one! :)

every once in awhile i mosey on over here to see what Rachel's talking about. But there's so much estrogen in these comment pages, i feel about as out of place as if i stumbled into a woman's bathroom.

So, this is me opening the door slightly, just to yell inside, "great post Rachel and great pictures!", "oh, and did you see Brett on the 5000gifts site?"

I'm outta here!
