Wednesday

My words aren't coming to me tonight. Two reasons. I can't express how much fun I've had with these great friends of mine and how thankful I am to be closer to them. The preparation and follow through of said fun time has left me worn out! I borrowed these pics from Elsie's flickr feed but more are on their way.

The day only got better. What was only supposed to be dinner with friends turned out to be a pirate-themed surprise birthday party! I pride myself on sensing when people are plotting something behind my back but I was TOTALLY in the dark until we got to Elsie's loft entrance. The 'Happy Birthday, Rachel' sign was my first signal. Then Brett whipped out a pirate hat for Sebastian and put on my red and gray striped head band and when I opened the door, I was greeted by pirate balloons, sushi, anchor topped cupcakes, and friends dressed the part. There were even Sharpie tattoos involved. Sebastian watched Peter Pan on Elsie's T.V. and joined in on the Sharpie fun. We wrapped it up early to take the little one home but it made me feel pretty special. I have the best friends, ever. EVER!

Also, I spent some birthday money on a pretty new chair that I'd been admiring from a LONG distance in a local store. More pics soon but here is the website image.

We went in and chatted with the store owner for awhile before asking about their pricing and it turned out to be a little less than I'd seen online. AND, since we wanted the same color as the floor model, they sold it to us with a sweet little discount. It fit nicely in the back seat of our car and now has a pretty little spot in our living room. Its not quite the bubblegum pink as seen in this picture but it is sugary sweet.

I'm really into my new hair cut now that I've seen it curly and straight. Its been a really happy week and I'm going to hold onto it no matter what.

Thanks for all of your hair feedback!

~Rachel
