It Must Be The Weather

It turned bitter cold here this weekend and all of the leaves finally let go and blew down the street and covered the sidewalks. Something about the gray sky and seeing my breath in the morning transitioned me into festive, holiday, crazy lady. I have been planning our Christmas tree decorations, thrifting ornaments, writing down gift ideas, drinking green tea, and wearing my plaid scarf.

I spent most of Sunday gearing up for a PonyParty shot in the arm and gathered all of my holiday findings. I spent about six hours working on photographing, cleaning, organizing and posting and there is still so much more to come! Here are a few of my favorites.

Stay tuned for Shiny Brite holiday ornaments, warm Christmas quilts, and a few nostalgic Christmas gifts that will take you back to 1984.

Thanks for looking!

Man, I wish I could thrift in the Midwest! I believe it truly must be just the best! I get so bummed when I make the rounds here in my small NorCal town. I think I might do a little Pony Party shopping then!

ADORE your Pony Party pics girl!

Conversely here, the weather has really started to heat up which has only served to hasten Christmasy thoughts. Funny how the weather is intertwined so much with the holidays. We are planning a family get-together on the grassy beachfront here with lots of icy-cold prawns and crab, and swimming in the ocean. Kind of an Aussie tradition to have cold prawns at Christmas! And we don't have turkey, it's chicken and a HUGE leg of cold ham instead, or a hot roast pork with homemade apple sauce. Turkey has started to catch on in Australia a little in the last couple of years, but not in a huge way.

What are you doing for Christmas this year?

It hasn't gotten that cold here yet thank goodness. I am not ready for it to be yet. I'm still enjoying having the windows open and hearing russeling of leaves outside on the trees.

Love the new items in pony party. Really wish there were good shops here to find things like that.

It's getting really cold here, too. I LOVE that blue set of dishes. My mammaw had a pink set of dishes just like that and I remember getting them down and playing kitchen with them when I was little. I had completely forgotten about that until I saw your picture!

Me too...I feel the exact same way. With the frigid temps, I went straight into holiday mode. Then today I got the holiday issue of MS Living in the mail with the faux bois stamped cookies and my heart went a flutter!
Love your new etsy goodies:)

eeeek! I love the blocks! :) And remember when I said thanks for reminding me to bring in the plants... well, grandpa put them back outside without me knowing it. And now, I'm afraid they're dead. :( But I'm read to let go! :) And to get started thinking about Christmas decor in this new house!
