Ruby got a new dress from an online friend recently. It's made from 100% recycled scrap fabrics and can easily last her through the Fall when layered with a onesie and leggings. We did a little photo shoot to show it off but didn't get a chance to add the adorable (large) patchwork bib that came in the same package because it's in the wash!
Poor Pitiful Pearl offers a variety of refashioned, ready-to-wear clothing as well as commissioned pieces for ladies and little girls. Her work reminds me of Pismo Beach in California! PPP donates 10% of all proceeds to the Casa Hogar Orphanage in Mexico. You can check out her website and read more about her business here. Thanks for Ruby's adorable pieces, Shauna!
While I was taking her photos she kept staring at this owl alphabet poster from Gingiber. She was mesmerized! This is the corner we chose to put Sebastian's big bed which will make for lots of photo shoots in the near future because it gets decent light and has a dramatic shadowy corner. And apparently my model will sit still!
Lately we've been checking out one of our eight or nine globes and learning about a few choice countries. He knows about China thanks to Kai-Lan, Australia thanks to the Wiggles, England thanks to Thomas the Train, and we told him Diego was from Brazil, although I realize Diego speaks Spanish and not Portuguese...I was under pressure. He knows the orange state is Missouri, the yellow one is Oklahoma and that his friend, D, came from Ethiopia. Every night before bed he wants to talk about the globe and I'm so thankful for an opportunity for easy learning that I always oblige.
I almost had to remove the globe from his bed tonight. It's his new favorite thing besides singing Baa, Baa, Black Sheep and having everyone pile on his new bed to read Llama, Llama, Mad At Mama. It's an adorable book. Thanks, Katy!
I want time to stop so I can soak these ages in. I'll restart it when I'm good and ready.
xoxo,
Rachel

xo.
ha!!! little ruby is the cutest little hippy i ever did see.
The dress is so cute! I was so surprised when I saw the back! Cute cute cute! I wanted to reach out and tickle that little chubby back!
Your babies are just the cutest!
Good Job! ha!
Such a sweet sweet dress!! You have such a pretty little girl, and a CUTE little man. What a family :)
she is just precious and that dress is fantastic!
beautiful photos
I know he's young, but you should consider enrolling Sebastian in a Montessori school. One of the areas they work with is geography. When my son was 4 he went and loved geography so much he whizzed his way through the planets, the states, and was earning the countries of Europe by the end of the year! The Montessori model allows children to work in many areas and whizz through the areas they excel in (reading and geography for my son) while practicing the areas they need more practice in (fine/gross motor for my son- who at 9 still can't tie or ride a bike).
LOVE THESE PICS! We also have Llama, Llama Mad at Mama! Too cute of a book. We signed up with a book club when Xavier was 2, that sends us a free book every month until he turns 5. That one came about 6 months ago. We read it all the time. We read it all loud and angry and he laughs and laughs. Too cute.
yay! so glad that ruby is memorized by the owl poster!
How lovely. This dress is beautiful. Cute pics ;)
Mim Smith Faro,
We're working on enrolling him in the new Montessori school that is opening it's doors this Fall! Fingers crossed that all goes well!
aw so cute! easy learning opportunities are the best!
Your children are so cute. I love the dress!
she is such a sweet little model!
love the name of the children's book.
You should do a post on some of your favorites! As a girl that hasn't had any babies yet it can be overwhelming to find a good childrens book for the million showers I get invited to. Seems everyone is doing the book instaed of a card route. Getting preggers might be in the water here...
Ruby's dress is so stunning. Llama, Llama Mad at Mama is one of my favorite books too. I love it! It is in my children's book collection for the one day when God says it is time.
love that dress! and i love ruby's facial expressions in the last two photos. she looks so smug. i bet she has so much personality!
I'm sure you get this a lot, but I LOVE her name. And she has such a beautiful little face :)
i loooove these dresses! and the pictures of the kids are so great. you are one talented photographer.
another "mad at momma" book fan here at our house :)
She looks so much like you, big bright eyes. The love siblings share is amazing. Its the reason I went for baby 3.
this is the best dress! love it! and you take the best photos of your little models. they are so cute.

I love the last individual shot of your baby girl, so adorable! :)
Ruby is quite the natural! I love the fact that you have to take the globe away from Sebastian at night! :)
I can hardly remember when mine were little and they are only 3.5 and 5.5! It seems to go way too fast. Enjoy these sweet babies!
Aaah, she looks so cute in that dress! Great pictures too, can't wait 'till I'm an aunt, so I can take cute pictures too. My sister has to get pregnant first, but that's just a tiny detail.
Don't forget to mention Belgium to Sebastian, the country of chocolate, beer (he might be a bit too young for that) and French Fries. (It's next to France, by the North Sea, under the United Kingdom, just to be sure you are able to find it. It's quite small, but nevertheless a nice country to live! Have fun searching!
How sweet!
I saw this craft after reading your blog about how S likes globes...check it out...I think he may love one for his room?!

They are both so stinkin' cute!!
#1- That is the best baby dress ever.
#2- I LOVE the over-the-shoulder poses.
#3- Sebastian is SOOO big! But, then again, I haven't seen him in person in like forever.
what a darling dress! little sebastian looks so handsome in these photos! :)
Beautiful dress, beautiful children! This post made me really happy :)
Wow, in that last picture, Ruby looks a lot like big brother...but of course a little sweeter because she is a girl. I always have a hard time getting good pictures of my two together. Snap away before they are both mobile. Oh, and love the dress.
Rachel,
I've said it before and I'll say it again - your kids are beautiful!!
cait
