The Last Night of the Year

I hope you're spending your last night of the year with those you love and can ring in the new year with hope and expectancy. I've been thinking about some goals for this year that are attainable and focused on making life more rich and enjoyable. I'm sure 2009 will have its share of challenges but I'm walking into it with strong hope in my heart. Strong hope that has been forged by the challenges of the last few years. I'm bringing that hope with me and spreading it out wide.

And while we're here, I want you to know I really appreciate your attention to and support of this blog. Your comments are always read and have recently given me great comfort and encouragement. This online sharing place is a great motivator in my life and work and I know for sure I wouldn't be doing what I'm doing without you all.

I'll see you on the other side!
~Rachel

Happy New Year to you Rachel! I love how your hand wrote your goals and then took pictures. I was planning on listing my new years goals and resolutions today on my blog as it is my 1 year anniversary of blogging. Maybe I'll take your cue and write them out and take a picture. That way I can really absorb it - and hang it up so I see it every day. I think your list is great and I hope you achieve them all! Thanks for a wonderful year full of inspiration and beauty. Take care.

aw! i dont comment very often-not sure why cause i talk LOADS(probably more than any other teenage girl i know lol)-but I read this blog every day. Lately, Ive been making some tough decisions and praying really hard about them. You inspire me though! I cant really tell you how...just...the way you deal with getting out stress and unhappy feelings inspires me. I love reading this blog! SO many things inspire me, from the art to the clothes to the things i mentioned before. Idk if you like talking about being a pk growing up-and i know i bring up, like everytime i comment so im sorry,lol-but it has helped make you who youare today-and I hope that when i do get wherever im supposed to be at that I am at least half as smart and...able too deal with things like you are! Happy New Year! IM praying for you, and I hope you have your baby! :] I loooove sebastians pics and room! and his name! I actually met a guy who's name is sebastian...he's so cute...but when i heard his name in my mind i was like "OMG! SEBASTIAN!!" lol. Anyway, I've talked long enough through this comment, lol. Happy New Year! You rockkkk!

Attn all photoshop enthusiest...

I've been learning photoshop here and there and all I can say is. Look to you tube there are some great tutorials out there. You will find a few crappy ones along the way but there are some good ones. Another suggestion...Barnes and Noble or your fav. book store. I like B&N b/c it has a huge magazine section where you can find mags that are for photoshop, also there are self help books for photoshop...Authors like Scott Kelby, Shelbourne, Galer Andrews, even Adobe puts out great books (on the spine it will read Photoshop CS3 Classroom in a book.) They have them for Elements too...I'm sure they'll have one come out for the New CS4 soon if they don't already. Most of your books will come with a cd-rom for like tutorials in such to play with while you learn. It really will help. And it will help you learn more about layers. That was one of biggest frustrations. But its gotten easier. I'm by no means a pro at this stuff but I'm satisfied with it. Also flikr has some great groups where you can ask ?'s.
Also ONE more thing I promise... Look to your high schools in your area some of them offer from the Recreational Dept. classes to the public for a reasonable dollar amount...I have done this myself.

I hope this has helped a few of you out.
