On Wednesday I ...

source

* Thought it was Tuesday all day long.

* Lost my temper over bath time. I apologized.

* Got a peek at my son's preschool and realized what's about to happen. I held him in my lap at bedtime and felt him outgrow me a little bit more.

* Started in on Thank You notes from Sebastian's birthday. Yep.

* Wore a thrifted dress and felt pretty all day.

* Thought about moving houses someday.

* Practiced empathy instead of offense.

* Politely pointed out to the jeweler at the mall that they hadn't in fact fixed my wedding ring.

* Couldn't get the songs 'Time After Time' by Cyndi Lauper and 'Every Rose Has A Thorn' by Bret Michaels out of my head. I prefer the first one but I keep seeing Bret Michaels concert signs downtown.

* Read a few more pages of 'Eat, Pray, Love'.

* Got two whole hours to catch up on online work and barely made a dent.

* Made Ruby laugh.

* Enjoyed three cups of coffee.

* Avoided the laundry but watered the yard.

* Listened to the latest Mates of State album over dinner at the table.

xoxo,
Rachel

Awe. They get so big so fast. My youngest doesn't need to hold my hand anymore when we walk to school. Breaks my heart :(

It sounds like a lovely list.

Sounds like a prety great list! I thought it was Monday all day long, but it was Tuesday! It still feels a day behind for me. Like today should be Wednesday.

Don't worry about him outgrowing you! It won't happen. My 15yo (very independent to the world) daughter still crawls into bed in the evening and cuddles and holds my hand when she's having a bad day.

I love this list - such an honest look at the day of a mom. :) The one about preschool put a little lump in my throat for you.

I remember those days when they first start going to school. My daughter will be in second grade this fall. I can't believe how fast it flies!

Lovely list! Love your comment about "practicing empathy". I too am reading Eat, Pray, Love. How are you liking it? It took me awhile to get into but am now really into it.

Your Wednesday sounds very similar to mine! I went to a meeting at the pre-school where I teach to begin gearing up for the new year. I hope you have an easy transition into pre-school world! Don't get discouraged!

one of the best things about preschool - it gives you time to take a breath and realize how amazing your kids are AND the best part when you walk in the room to pick them up they run up to you with a giant grin and then give the biggest hug ever. It truly is worth it.

Great perfect mom list.

love love love Mates of State.
can't handle how big my little man is getting, either.
can't imagine how much you have to do with how many ppl are enrolled in Home Ec... that has to be a good feeling though! quite the success.

All day Wednesday I had "Every Rose has its Thorn" also - and I couldn't explain the reasoning behind it at all.
