Thrifted

I picked these up in West Plains, MO Thursday afternoon. They are comfortably broken in and only cost me $2.00. I also found a vintage military jacket minus all the patches ( you can see where they used to be!) that I'm hoping to use in my wardrobe this fall. It may need a little presto-chango here and there but it'll be really cute belted over a dress and with boots.

Do you have thrifted pieces in your wardrobe?
xoxo,
Rachel

Nice! I don't understand why here in Argentina it's impossible to find thrifted items at such cheap prices! Speaking of which, there was a package waiting for me on the dining room table today. It was my purchase on BleuBirdVintage =), yay! Can't wait till sun rises so I can wear my new/old denim dress!

Have fun wearing your shoes.

Miki.

how funny, I just got a pair of the exact same moccasins, but in white for $8.99, but thrift stores here on the west coast are always more. They are pretty cute though, huh?
Thrift stores in the midwest as I found this past weekend in Ohio are AWESOME+cheap! I need to go back soon!

So cute! I have many thrifted items in my wardrobe, jeans, shirts, scarves, jewelry. Do you clean the shoes, and how? I've never bought shoes at a thrift store because I didn't want to ruin them by cleaning...

Sort of thrifted - today I scored two strapless dressed for $2 each at a garage sale. Perfect for spring and summer coming up here in Oz :)

those are adorable!

I buy tons of thrifted stuff for my wardrobe. I found this neat 1940s blue + fur jacket for $10! OMG. My youngest son is 7 and he loves buying clip on ties at the thrift store. He actually wears them too which is pretty cute.

Cute!

Not usually a thrift store girl because I never find good deals. UNTIL...

Last week I visited a new thrift shop next to Hobby Lobby and found a pair of Frye boots in my exact size for $32.99. The best part? The very next day my hubby saw them in Nordstrom--the SAME boots--with a price tag of $327.

SCORE!

I think I may need to go thrifting again soon. Because clearly this is the start of something wonderful.

JOanne,

I once had a pair of FRYE boots from a thrift store for $4 in Shawnee, OK. I sold them to a consignment store in Seattle three years later when I was pregnant because they didn't fit anymore. WHAT WAS I THINKING!!! I had heard your feet get wider after pregnancy from hormones but now I wish I'd waited to see just in case!

love the moccasins! I have a few thrifted accessories but most of my thrifted stuff ends up being decor pieces! :)

I have a similar, tan pair of Minnetonka moccs that my fiance bought me while I was pregnant. I love them and wear them all of the time! I have some baby weight to lose so my favorite thrifted pieces are still a bit tight. :(

I just bought the most fabulous salmon pink cropped wool jacket. It has three quarters sleeves that are slightly flared, and it's like something Doris Day would have worn. It's super cute! I got it at the Belleville Flea Market for $2, from a really sweet old lady for $2. I can't wait til it gets cold so I can crochet a scarf to wear with it (or some mittens and a hat) And I can't wait til it gets cold because it's been running in the 100's here... When it's cold you can always put more on, but I can only take so many clothes off to cool down, lol.

Also, I love those moccasins :)

So beyond jealous of those red moccasins! I've been looking for a pair of cute moccasins forever, at least that's what it feels like.

It seems that the majority of my wardrobe is thrifted these days! I feel so much more comfortable in a thrift store than at a mall.

The last thing I thrifted was an Anthro dress new with tags still on it for $13! .... not so much vintage charm, but i'm still in love!

The ENTIRE thing except bras, socks, underwear...
Nothing brand new at all.
It's all in the thrift stores except the lovely shoes...With a little skill and foresight, any look can be re-created from those racks...
I bring a little stack of images {printed to be wallet size} to keep in mind the look I want.

Oooh! Love the shoes and the photo! Where I live we have lots of thrift stores. The college students here survive on them. I have added quite a few fun items to my own wardrobe through the years. :)

I actually found a Canadian Air Cadets jacket here in Melbourne Australia for five dollars. It needs a little mending but fits really well.
